I came for dessert after dinner nearby at Alma Fonda Fina. I checked in at the ground floor receptionist to get access to the elevator since El Five is on the 5th floor. It was 1015pm, so no delay. I went to their beautiful bar in the back near the windows overlooking downtown. The receptionist downstairs recommended a new special dessert when I indicated I was interested in their Basque cheesecake. I was served by Dan at the bar. He said the special dessert was only being offered this week and in fact changes frequently. It was a pistachio sponge cake with pistachio mouse and strawberry rose coulis. I asked Dan what would be a well suited amaro to paiir with it. He poured me a glass of Peach Street Distillery Amaro from Palisade, Colorado. A nice flavourful beverage. I was so impressed with the quality and atmosphere that I booked a reservation for next month thru OpenTable.

Tough to review honestly. Kind of a 2 parter. Place was a little pretentious. They make you wait in the building lobby before granting you access to the elevator to the 5th floor. We asked and were denied the opportunity to have a drink at the bar while waiting. Tapas style menu. We asked if we could eat at the bar and were denied. The bar had about 20ish seats. We were there for 2 hours and there were at least a half dozen seats open the entire time. First item came out cold. Worst Manhattan ever poured. Bad start! Then Nicole, the manager, got the idea that they were losing us and stepped in. The mild comeback...she got behind the bar and made fresh drinks. Way better (She bartends when not managing). Our server did a good job with the hand he was dealt. The rest of the food was good. I'm being generous with the rating because Nicole was very attentive and understanding. Otherwise I may not be so kind. Not high on the list for repeat business.

Haven't been in years (we're talking like, since 2017) and it was just as lovely as I remember. First, Erika, our server was charming and efficient. Second, the view and weather was just insane. You can see all of downtown from the balcony. Third, cocktails were some of the best I've had in Denver and it's hard to mess up patatas bravas! Didn't love the chocolate cake for dessert (or rather, the toppings on it) but a small price to pay for the rest of the evening being lovely. For three dishes, fourish cocktails and a dessert it was $165. Would come back and much sooner than 7 years from now.

What a wonderful dining experience! My boyfriend and I have been dying to try this place for months. We had the absolute best time from the minute we walked through the parking garage at the base of the building to the end of our meal. The atmosphere is dimly lit with beautiful paintings/murals along the walls. Every employee enthusiastically says hello as you pass by. The staff will go above and beyond to create the ultimate night for you! We didn't have drinks, but tried a diverse spread of the menu. For tapas, we shared the Goat Cheese Croquettas, Marissa Eggplant Fries (easily the winner of the evening - absolutely delicious), the Bison, and Lamb Shank (interesting). For the paella, we split the Carbon Culture Mushroom (very large and filling dish; rich!). Throughout the entirety of the visit, a chef came out to personally point out which dishes had gluten in them (I'm gluten intolerant), our host frequently checked in and provided amazing suggestions, and the manager was generous enough to comp a tapa because our paella took longer than expected. It's been a very long time since I've had service this excellent!

Great atmosphere, I do not recommend the indoor patio if it's warm out though...it gets a bit toasty With that being said the food was amazing and the service was immaculate. The food came out PERFECTLY timed which is big at a tapas place, I usually find myself overwhelmed with things coming out all at once but they killed it The food (pictured) was all perfect, can't say one bad thing.

Came here for my husbands birthday with some friends and this restaurant is amazing - the view is incredible and thankfully most tables have access to the view so it's not a huge deal if you don't have a window table. Ambiance is moody and bas a cool mix of spanish and mediterranean. Service was great, we made reservations online and they were great with knowing there was a birthday. The food was so good, our favorites were the lamb sausage hummus plate and the seafood paella. The bison albóndigas and pork tenderloins were good, but we were fine with just having them once. Drinks were also amazing, a bit pricey for multiples but very good for a celebration!

Lovely dining experience at El Five. Skipped the drinks and went straight for the food - my favorites were the sea bass and the eggplant fries - the fries were amazing! My husband liked the chicken croquettes and mezze platter. The dessert was surprisingly nice - a little sweet but I liked it. The only disappointment we had was with the matzo soup dumplings, they were flavorful but the dumpling cover was very thick and we could barely taste the stuffing inside. I did see they had a cbd drink on their cocktail menu and we will be back during summer time to try drinks and apps!

I had somewhat high expectations for this place and they really delivered! The food, the ambiance, and the service were all excellent. The ambiance provides plenty of space between tables, so even though you're in an open concept area, you can still hear whoever you're with- it's not too loud. It's also has wonderful downtown views and sexy decor. Our waiter and waiters all did a fantastic job. When you come here you will get a lot of touches by the staff, but they aren't hovering over you, listening to your conversations. We tried many entrees, however, the Chilean Sea Bass, the Moroccan lamb shank, the eggplant fries, and the Peri Peri shrimp stand out as our favorites. Everything was good though. Ultimately, I would definitely recommend this place and look forward to coming back! Happy eating.
